Food system is broken due to hamper food production by droughts, salinity, land and water grabbing. On the other hand, farmers particularly the small and marginalized farmers are not getting profitable prices for their production. It is also another cause for food insecurity.
The government should protect the life, lives and livelihoods of farmers for ensuring food for all the country people. In this respect, a media stunt is organized by jointly Online Knowledge Society and Nagorik Sanghati in association with SAYCAW and GROW campaign on 26 October 2013 in front of National Museum, Shahbugh, Dhaka, Bangladesh.
Prodip K. Roy, Chief Executive of Online Knowledge Society, Sharifuzzaman Sharif, General Secretary of Nagorik Sanghati and Rashedul Haque Nony, Campaign Coordinator, Online Knowledge Society spoke in the media stunt.
The speakers of the media stunt demands:
1. National Food Security Law for ensuring food for all.
2. Social and Legal Security of small and marginalized farmers.
3. Ensure profitable prices for agricultural production.
4. Extend support to the solidarity entrepreneurship to cooperatives for agricultural marketing.
